My lesson experience with Mrs. Riggs has truly been a blessing. The French Horn is no easy instrument by any measure, and some days it feels like the instrument itself is fighting you. But with Mrs. Riggs, that “battle” seems so much easier. She not only is a talented and incredible horn player, but also one of the most kind-hearted and encouraging people who genuinely wants her students to succeed. Her enthusiasm makes me want to get better, and throughout the seven years that I’ve studied with her, I see and hear myself getting better every week.
